What this site collects, why, and what it does not do.
Analytics
We measure traffic with a privacy-focused analytics script that counts page views and referrers in aggregate. It does not set tracking cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not follow you to other sites. IP addresses are not stored in a form that identifies you.
Forms
If you subscribe to the Sunday email or use the contact form, we store the details you enter (an email address, and for the contact form your name and message) so that we can send the newsletter or reply to you. We do not sell or share these details. You can unsubscribe from any email using the link in the footer of that email, or by writing to us through the contact form.
Cookies
The site sets a session cookie when you submit a form, which is needed to protect the form against automated abuse. It sets no advertising cookies of its own. If advertising is shown on the site in future, the advertising partner's own policy will apply and this page will be updated to say so.
Third-party links and fonts
Guides link to external publishers and reference works. Those sites have their own privacy policies. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives a request from your browser when a page loads.
Your rights
You can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Use the contact form and we will respond within a reasonable time.
